POSITION PURPOSE :
Provides leadership, vision, and support in the overall architectural design of on-premise and cloud server, storage and related IT infrastructure to address current and future business requirements. Acts as an escalation resource for IT teams, as well as business units, being a source for technical solutions and problem analysis and resolution. Interfaces with management to provide subject matter expertise and advice on emerging technologies and practices.

Designs resilient and fault tolerant solutions for mission critical IT operations infrastructure. Identifies creative solutions to solve various business requirements and needs. Leverages updated technologies where appropriate in a forward-thinking manner to design the future of operations strategy and accelerate service delivery, in the manner of DevOps and continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging Cloud developments/trends, assess the impact, and collaborate with IT teams to incorporate new trends and emerging technology and best practices to current and future Cloud initiatives.
Architects and maintains a secure server, data center, and cloud system environment and enforces adherence to corporate policies. Architects disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for critical systems and processes.
Serves as an escalation point within the Systems Engineering Team and other operations support teams to resolve complex, technical problems. Performs advance design, administration and troubleshooting. Manages ticket loads and ensures that response time service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Leads various system engineering projects; ensures projects are completed timely.
Defines requirements, provides options and makes recommendations related to purchasing and the deployment of various hardware and software. Assists in budget decisions relating to software licensing, hardware and systems.
Performs advanced systems administration, trending analysis, and troubleshooting. Utilizes monitoring and system configuration tools to design management and administration solutions to aid in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance management of servers and systems. Maintains server and system configuration records.
Adheres to documented change management processes to protect the integrity of the production environment.
Provides technical leadership to team and department members. Leads through example; monitors, influences and trains others. Provides input to supervisor on performance reviews and helps to identify development needs.
Participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation, as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of experience administering a Windows server environment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Microsoft, VMware, or AWS certifications
Experience building and maintaining a DevOps environment
Intermediate or advanced PowerShell scripting experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
