POSITION PURPOSE

Republic Airways Holdings is offering a paid internship within various departments at our Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis. Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial partnership that enriches professional experiences for students and promotes the unique culture of Republic Airways.

We value all of our interns and go the extra mile to make sure each receives a learning experience that aligns with career goals. Each will become extremely knowledgeable in the department placed in as well as develop a well-rounded picture of other departments. Each will also learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with department leaders and other professionals in the field of choice.

Internship candidates will be sought for the following departments; Human Resources, Flight Operations, Inflight, Maintenance, Safety, Supply Chain, and Communications.

Hourly compensation will be based on the assigned project and on the student's academic level in their respective college or university. Republic Airways does not provide housing for Interns. Interns must have the ability to relocate to Indianapolis without relocation assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs entry-level professional work, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility as the intern receives on-the-job training.

  • Participates in long-term projects as assigned by their individual managers. These projects will help further the company’s mission and goals.

  • Fully utilizes the capabilities and functions of standard office software applications such as data management, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing in completing assigned projects.

  • May prepare reports, presentations, operational documents and correspondence containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content related to business and operational activities subject to review and editing by higher-level staff members.

  • Presents projects, ideas, and findings to higher-level staff members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

Current enrollment as an undergraduate student with at least 3.0 cumulative GPA (out of 4.0). Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Self-motivated and reliable. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Readily adaptable to change.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Upper level undergraduate students preferred. Background in the field of the internship program chosen.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Strong research and problem solving skills. Makes decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to previously established precedents and policies. Impact of decisions is moderately low. Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
