POSITION PURPOSE

Analyzes supply chain operations in order to optimize spare parts inventory. Establishes and manages the variable elements of planning such as part stratification, forecasting, demand history, production schedules, planning lead-times, MIN MAX replenishment, intercompany shipping channels, lifecycle management, and target service levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Proactively monitors and analyzes inventory and demand trends, reliability, turn-around-time, system departure activityinventory deviations, and other variable inputs using historical and predictive statistical modelsto accurately forecast future inventory requirements and maintain and optimize minimum/maximum levels and station allocations.

  • Reviews and adjusts min/max levels on regular intervals thatsupport maintenance operations at the least total cost. Influences and collaborates with key stakeholders including Maintenance Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, MRO, Purchasing, and Finance on Planning variables and dynamic outputs.

  • Prepares analysis and leads cross-functional projects to design, plan, and implement planning initiatives.

  • Develops, maintains, investigates and utilizes mathematical and logical models used to optimize spare parts for airline maintenance.

  • Studies airline business processes and recommends system rules; identifies opportunities to implement system automation and exception based management for the Material Planning department.Models inventory requirements that support planned and unplanned maintenance activities for expendable, consumable, shop supply, repairable and/or rotable part categories.

  • Assists in forecasting inventory requirements and improves forecast accuracy based on input from Engineering, Finance and Maintenance Planning; coordinates with Purchasing, Materials Services, Warranty/Repair and other stakeholders to ensure inventory is available for scheduled events, and on disbursement of seed units and availability of service bulletin kits. Provides output of 3/6/12/24 month demand forecast.

  • Interprets demand and supply drivers and makes optimized decisions to impact the operation and financial goals.

  • Maps and documents new and existing processes with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and service and support improvements.

  • Performs initial and on-goingprovisioning for prospective and active fleets. Gathers and analyses all pertinent and relevant data and reviews and develops provisioningrecommendations to ensure adequate physical sparesinventory to meet operational requirements with consideration for budgetary limitations.

  • Analyzes and reviews Non AOG and Non Heavy Check material requisitions for action.

  • Takes a proactive approach to insuring that Part Masterentries are accurate in all respects. Maintains correct Part Master identification of Rotable, Consumable and Expendable processes and categories.

  • Researches and implements additions andchanges in the Part Master due to evolving Maintenancerequirements,EngineeringOrders and Manufacturing changes. Ensures approved alternate part numbers are correctly identified in the PartMaster.

  • Maintains special Part Master attributessuchasHazmat identification, shelf-life requirements,calibration intervals and preventive maintenancerequirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Aviation Management, Business, Purchasing, Materials Management or related field.

  • Requires 2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management or related area.

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of experience.

  • Prefer Production and Inventory Management certification or Professional in Supply Management Certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and apply principles of logical thinking and mathematical formulas to draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
