POSITION PURPOSE

Supports the Supply Chain organization by providing analytical data pertaining to departmental key performance indicators, cost drivers, performance improvement tools, budget and contract forecasting and multiple other projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Leads all supply chain activities for assigned aircraft fleets and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers. Interfaces with Certificate departments including engineering, maintenance, production planning and quality assurance to identify and define fleet material and service requirements.

  • Ensures that fleet material and service requirements are communicated, understood and executed throughout the supply chain organization, including material planning, purchasing, repair and warranty and material services in order to guarantee sources of supply.

  • Maintains visibility of total supply chain costs for assigned fleets. Identifies cost savings opportunities and coordinates improvement initiatives across the supply chain organization, including harvesting fleet warranties and maintenance reserve recovery.

  • Monitors specific activities in the supply chain organization to ensure that service levels are met or exceeded. Develops and implements key performance metrics to document performance and cost metrics.

  • Manages the process of MRO vendor evaluation and selection. Administers vendor invoice approval processes to ensure that material is provided the lowest overall cost including factors such as acquisition, inventory and transportation. Provides regular reporting of vendor performance and measures improvement.

  • Supports multiple supply chain departments with budget preparation and contract negotiations by providing data and forecasting tools.

  • Works in collaboration with other internal departments, such as maintenance, engineering, finance, IT, etc. on various projects.

  • Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.

  • Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Finance, Supply Chain, Aerospace Management or related field.

  • Requires 5 years of experience in supply chain and multi-function team leadership / cross-departmental project management or related experience.

  • Six Sigma green belt and solid understanding of LEAN concepts.

  • Requires high level of computer / software and analytical skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Six Sigma black belt.

  • MRO contract development and administration experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers. Able to effectively present information to top management, public groups and / or internal customers.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
