POSITION PURPOSE

Leads, advises, performs and supports, as required in compliance, employee relations, training and development, benefits, organizational development, employee engagement functions, and recruiting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Serves as onsite responsible Authorized Signatory and point of contact with regulating agencies.

  • Authorizes and manages building security access.

  • Serves as a liaison and facilitator for Republic, contract personnel, employees, students, applicants and visitors. Utilizes SITA access to escort visitors and inspectors.

  • Develops and implements annual TSA training.

  • Works with Republic HR Business partner in regards to disciplinary actions, suspensions and terminations. Collects badges and company property from terminating employees.

  • Serves as Republic HR Compliance Extended Partner to execute the LIFT random drug testing program.

  • Ensures compliance with the Drug & Alcohol policy.

  • Creates and maintains record audit readiness.

  • Works with Talent Acquisition to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the organization.

  • Assists Talent Acquisition in organizing and facilitating new hire orientation by coordinating with cross-functional departments; instructs new hires on the completion of required paperwork.

  • Supports employee engagement and recognition programs.

  • Assists with Workday performance management planning process.

  • Creates and maintains employee files.

  • Provides support to employees in various HR related topics such as compensation, benefits and leaves and escalates to the appropriate area at Republic.

  • Serves as a sounding board for employee concerns and reports issues to the appropriate supervisor. Acts as an employee relations coach to management and associates; provides advice to associates and management in exploring alternatives for resolution of work-related problems.

  • Assists in conducting investigations related to claims of harassment/discrimination by reviewing materials, recordings, etc. May make recommendations for resolution.

  • Ensures compliance with labor regulations.

  • Provide support for all projects assigned. Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Additional education beyond high school and 1 year of experience, or a combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Desire to work as a team with results driven approach

  • Ability to be creative, flexible and resourceful

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in an HR related field or similar area.

  • At least 3 years of related HR experience.

  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office including PowerPoint

  • HRIS system experience (Workday) would be a plus

  • Previous airline or academic experience

HOURS

The working days required for this position are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for an 8 hour shift (flexible daytime schedule).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work in conjunction with the leadership team in making decisions that impact day to day operations as well as establishing company policies
